This work was inspired by a walk in the Makaranga Gardens in Kloof, KZN. The fragile edges of the petals and the way the flowers hung softly between the thick dark undergrowth caught my attention. The juxtaposition of the flowers on opposite sides of the canvas, sometimes inverted, captures the subtle harmony amid contrasts.The straight sharp lines of the pen strokes introduced a tension that echoes the intricate balance of nature’s design.
